WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE?


Intelligence is considered to be a set of abilities; the ability to learn quickly; the ability to solve difficult problems, the ability to perform task quickly and accurately and so on. An ability allows a person to achieve a higher criterion of performance than someone else who lacks that ability. 



WECHSLER'S DEINITION:- Intelligence is the aggregate or global capacity of the individual to act purposefully, to think rationally and to deal effectively with the environment.

Intelligence grows with the age, though it tends to stabilize after the age of 10 and is fully stabilized during adolescence and generally does not increase or grow after 20 years of age. During old age, deterioration is ther because of dysfunctioning of neurons and cells ,yet it cannot be declared that old age is categorized by 'wisdom' which compensates for deteriorating cognitive functioning.
